Calum Davenport

Calum Davenport began his career with Coventry City, and was at Highfield Road for four years, making just over 80 appearances before signing off with another steady display in a 2-1 win over West Ham.

In 2004 he joined Tottenham Hotspur for a fee of around £3m, but soon afterwards, he was sent out on loan to West Ham United for three months to gain first team experience - much to the annoyance of his former club and the Hammers' Championship rivals.

However, with Tottenham struggling in defence, Davenport was recalled to White Hart Lane in November 2004. He made his debut, coming on as a substitute in the 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa later that month.

Spurs felt the youngster needed more first team experience and in January 2004, the defender followed club captain Jamie Redknapp to Southampton. Davenport was due to remain at St Mary's Stadium until the end of the season.

He only started nine league games in his time at White Hart Lane, and in January 2007 he returned to West Ham, this time in a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.

He played six games upon his return to Upton Park, but couldn't find a regular place there and left in February 2009 to join Sunderland on loan.
