Talented youngster Ryan Shawcross started his career at Manchester United in 2006, but struggled to find a way into Sir Alex Ferguson's first eleven.

A brief but successful loan period at Royal Antwerp followed, before he was sent to Stoke City.

Shawcross flourished at the Britannia Stadium and his move was made permanent in 2008.
