Michael Tongue is a young and gifted midfielder who began his career at Manchester United before moving onto Sheffield United in the 2000-01 season.
During that campaign, he only made two appearances, but went on to become one of the Blades' most talented players, playing 56 games and scoring eight goals in 2002-03 and playing an influential role in the Blades' promotion season of 2005-06.
He can play in the centre or in a wide midfield role and this versatility has led to interest from big clubs like Liverpool as well as call-ups to the England Under-21 side.
However, the following season saw him often frustrate fans and managers alike with inconsistent performances that undermined the impact of his more impressive displays. In September 2008 he moved to Stoke City.
