Liam Lawrence

Sunderland signed Liam Lawrence from Mansfield Town in June 2004 for £175,000 after he scored 22 times from midfield for the Stags.

He found the net six times in 20 appearances in his debut season for the Black Cats, though was frustrated by an ankle injury.

He lasted a further two campaigns at the Stadium of Light, but was sold to Stoke City in 2007.

He has quickly become a fan favourite at the Britannia Stadium and could prove vital in 2008/09.
