Stephen Hunt signed for Reading from Brentford in the summer of 2005 on a Bosman.

He began his career under Steve Coppell at Crystal Palace, but found his chances at Selhust Park limited because of injury.

In 2001, he signed for Brentford, becoming Coppell's first signing for the club, going on to become a regular fixture in the side as the Bess narrowly missed out on promotion to, coincidentally enough, Reading.

The 2002/03 saw him continue his ascent as he scored ten times and banged in a further 12 in the following season.

Once again, however, injury hampered his progress in the 2004/05 season. But once his contract expired at the end of that campaign, he moved to Reading, linking up once more with Steve Coppell.

He is a strong, attacking midfielder and he proved vital for the Royals in 2006/07 as he scored four goals in 38 games.
