Bobby Convey
Position: Midfield
Height: 5'8
Weight: 10st 10lbs
Date of Birth: 1983-05-27 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Left-winger Bobby Convey joined Reading from American side DC United in July 2004, for an undisclosed fee.
His football career started at an early age when, at only 15, he was became the youngest player to ever play in a CONCACAF qualifier, appearing for the US Under-17s. The next year, he made 43 appearances, so it was hardly surprising when he was snapped up by DC at the age of 16 in the year 2000.
That season he played 18 games for DC while playing six for the Under-18 national side, in which he scored five goals.
He was proving something of a prodigious talent and made his full debut for the US national side against Mexico on 25th October 2000, becoming the country's third-youngest player along the way.
2001 saw him earn his second cap; 2002 saw him named US Young Athlete of the Year and, in 2003, he led the Under-20s to the quarter-finals of the World Youth Championship.
With such credentials, it was no surprise when Reading swooped for him. However, his first season at the Madejski was a frustrating one as he made only 7 apperances.
In his second season, however, he made his impact, scoring in the first week of the season, earning himself fan's Player of the Month award for August and helping the club get promoted to the Barclays Premiership.
However, the 2006/07 season was a troublesome one as he spent much of the campaign on the sidelines through to injury.
He will be hoping to avoid such problems in 2007/08.
