Reading have suspended Emerse Fae and Ibrahima Sonko for two weeks following a breach of club discipline.

The Ivory Coast midfielder and Senegal defender will play no part in the relegation-plagued club's run-in after reportedly refusing to take part in a reserve team game.

The Royals have refused to confirm the reason for taking action over the pair, but media reports on Thursday morning claimed they refused to take part in Monday's second string game against Spurs at Aldershot Town's Recreation Ground.

Both Fae and Sonko had been dropped from the starting line-up for last weekend's goalless draw with Wigan Athletic.

"As far as I'm concerned it's an internal disciplinary measure and it's been dealt with," manager Steve Coppell told the club's official website.

"I don't want to take anything away from the focus of what's important for us this week, and that is our game against Tottenham on Saturday.

"Everything else is just incidental as far as I'm concerned."
