Thanks to Carling, a lucky group of Rangers fans found themselves brushing shoulders with their heroes as they took their place at the star-studded Rangers FC Player of the Year dinner held at the Glasgow Hilton last Sunday. Amongst an evening of entertainment and fine dining the event gave the SPL Champions a chance to recognise the club’s top performers of the 2009/10 season.
Having finished top of our Carling.com fans poll, Madjid Bougherra’s mazy run and clinical finish in the 7-1 victory over Dundee United was named as the Carling Fans’ Goal of the Season giving Carling.com winner John Lawson the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet the Algerian international as he stepped up on stage to co-present him with his award!
Rangers’ Northern Irish midfielder Steven Davis was also amongst the winners as he collected the club’s Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year awards, whilst 18-year-old defender Danny Wilson picked up the Rangers Young Player of the Year award after making an impressive contribution to what was yet another successful season for Rangers Football Club.
