Jamie Ashdown
Position: Goal
Height: 6'3
Weight: 14st 7lbs
Date of Birth: 1980-11-30 Reading, England

Jamie Ashdown signed for Portsmouth in July 2004, turning down the offer of a two-year deal with Reading, to join the Premiership.
Jamie rose through Reading's Youth Academy, but struggled to gain a place in the starting XI. After a successful four month loan spell with Rushden and Diamonds, Jamie returned in March 2004 and became their first choice keeper by the 2003/04 season. However, frustated at how long it took him to displace Marcus Hahnemann and that he would probably return to the bench for the 2004/05 season, he opted to leave when his contract expired.
The fee for the player is due to be decided by a tribunal after the two clubs could not agree on a suitable figure. The Royals are due compensation as the player is under 24.
His first season of Barclays Premiership football proved successful. In the 2004/05 campaign he made 21 impressive performances between the Pompey sticks, keeping 5 clean sheets.
Ashdown made eighteen further appearances in the 2005/06 season, but found himself pushed behind the likes of Sander Westerveld and David James in following seasons. In 2008/09, he made just one UEFA Cup appearance.
