Stephen Carr

Height: 5'9
Weight: 12st 2lbs
Date of Birth: 1976-08-29 Dublin, Republic Of Ireland

Newcastle United completed the deal to bring Tottenham Hotspur right-back Stephen Carr to St James' Park in August 2004.
The Republic of Ireland international signed a four-year contract with the Magpies after passing a medical and agreeing personal terms, with the clubs having already agreed a fee of around £2million.
Twenty-seven-year-old Carr had been with Spurs for more than a decade, making well over 250 senior appearances for the club.
He became the third major signing for the Magpies of the summer, following the earlier arrivals of Manchester United midfielder Nicky Butt and Dutch international striker Patrick Kluivert.
His first season with the Magpies proved to be a great success, making 39 appearances and getting upfield to score once - the winner in a 2-1 win against Southampton.
He was a rock in the Newcastle United defence and continued his fine form for the Republic of Ireland.
He found his chances deteriorate during the 2005/06 season, but still managed 21 starts.
This rose to 30 starts in 2006/07 and he is certain to be a big part of Sam Allardyce's plan in 07/08.
