James Milner

Newcastle United's teenage midfielder James Milner joined Premiership rivals Aston Villa on loan until the end of the season in September 2005.

The 19-year-old's move came as part of a £1.5million deal that saw winger Nolberto Solano return to his former club Newcastle.

The youngster began his career at Leeds United and scored five times in 48 Premiership outings for the Whites after breaking into the first team at 16.

A £3.6million switch to St James' Park followed after Leeds' relegation and he has made a further 28 top-flight outings for the Magpies, scoring just once.

He returned to Newcastle United in 2005/06, following a series of impressive displays for Villa and has gone on to become a regular starter.

He will hope this continues into 2007/08.
