Claudio Cacapa

Brazilian centre back Claudio Cacapa signed for Newcastle United from Lyon in August 2007.

He began his career at Atletico Mineiro in 1996, before moving onto Lyon four years later.

A seven-year spell at the French club allowed him to build a reputation as a dogged and determined defender.

In 2007, he rejected a new deal from the French champions and signed for the Magpies.

His first season at St James's was a moderate success as he played eighteen games but struggled with injury and consistant form.
