Tottenham Hotspur agreed a deal to sign AS Roma forward Mido on an 18-month loan during the January transfer window.
Egyptian international Mido had struggled to make his mark at the Stadio Olimpico following his summer arrival and made Spurs his fifth club in four years.
The one-time Southampton target had already taken in spells with Celta Vigo and Ajax before joining French club Marseille.
In the 2004/05 season, he scored 3 times in 11 appearances for the White Hart Lane side.
Mido went on to be an important figure in the Tottenham Hotspur squad, but struggled to find regular first team football in 2005/06 and 06/07 as Martin Jol brought fresh faces to the Lane.
It was rumoured in January 2007 that he would leave for Manchester City. As it turned out, he stayed for the close of the 06/07 campaign, but was sold to Middlesbrough for a fee of £ 6million in August 2007.
