Italian striker Federico Macheda worked his way through Lazio's youth team before joining Manchester United in September 2007.
Nicknamed Kiko, he proved a instant success at United and spent much of the 2008/09 season impressing in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's reserve team.
He was handed a Champions League squad number for the second half of the season and made his debut coming off the bench in a league match against Aston Villa in April 2009.
He scored the last-gasp winner in the game, helping his side come from 2-1 behind to win 3-2, and, incredibly, he repeated the trick a week later, coming off the bench to score the winning goal at Sunderland.
Macheda went on to play in the FA Cup semi-final against Everton, and Sir Alex Ferguson made it clear that he expects big things from the young Italian.
