Danny Welbeck

Young forward Danny Welbeck made his first tentative steps into the Manchester United first team squad towards the end of 2007/08, and was included in the party who travelled to Moscow for the Champions League Final.

He made his first-team breakthrough in 2008/09, scoring a spectacular goal on his debut against Stoke City and following it up with another against Southampton in the FA Cup in January 2009. He started the Carling Cup Final against Tottenham Hotspur, earning him his first medal.
