Chris Eagles, born in Hemel Hempstead in 1985, signed for Manchester United in July 2002, and has made swift progress since then.

The midfielder is one of the most highly-regarded youngsters at Old Trafford and is expected to make an real impact in years to come.

His first glimpse of the first team came in October 2003 when he was called up to the squad for a Carling Cup match against Leeds United.

He made further appearances in the Carling Cup and FA Cup in 2004/05, before joining Watford on a three-month loan in January 2005.

In July 2005 he joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan until December 31st, and he was out on loan again in August 2006, joining NEC Nijmegen.

Eagles returned to Old Trafford in the spring of 2007 and scored his first goal for the club in a 4-2 victory at Goodison Park as United closed in on the title.
