Blumer Elano

Manchester City signed Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Elano for £8million in August 2007.

Elano had been with Shakhtar for two seasons, having previously played for Guarani, Internacional and Santos back in his homeland.

He broke into the national team set-up in early 2004 and was part of the squad that was successful in the 2007 Copa America in Venezuela, although he missed out on a place in the final 24 for the 2006 World Cup finals.
