Charles Itandje is a French goalkeeper who started his career at Red Star 93 before moving on to Lens as a youngster in 2001.
He went on to become one of their key players and earned a place in the French under-21 side before moving to Liverpool in August 2007.
His first season at Anfield was a slow one as he was reduced to back-up for Jose Reina - as expected.
However, his progress in 2008/09 was almost nonexistant, with Diego Cavalieri coming in as competition for the understudy role. Things went from bad to worse in 2009 when he was spotted acting disrespectfully during a Hillsbrough memorial service at Anfield, earning himself a two week suspension by the club.
