Andrea Dossena

Andrea Dossena is an Italian left-back who joined Liverpool from Udinese in June 2008. He began his career at Verona in 2001, and moved on to Treviso in 2005.

He lasted just a season at Treviso before he was snapped up by Udinese, however. With the Serie A side, he proved himself a talented young star and was rewarded with an international call-up in 2007.

Dossena's first season at Liverpool was a mixed one, with some of his performances being criticised, while he continued to impress at international level.

He did have one great week in March 2009, when the Italian scored in thrashings of both Real Madrid and Manchester United, but ended the season with his Anfield future called into question by claims that he wanted to return to Italy.
