Steven Whittaker

Steven Whittaker initially struggled to hold down a first team place after breaking into the Hibernian team as a youngster, mainly due to being seen as a utility player who could operate in defence or midfield. However, once he started to be used in his favoured role at right-back, he grew into one of the best defenders in the SPL.

In August 2007, Rangers pipped a number of English clubs to his signing for £2m and his first season at Ibrox proved a hugely successful one as he quickly became a first team regular.
