Kevin Thomson

Central midfielder Kevin Thompson began his career at Hibernian in 2003. He quickly became a first-team regular with the club and played in the Scottish League Cup final at the end of the 2003/04 season.

Shortly after that game he suffered a cruciate ligament injury which kept him out for a year, and he made only four league appearances for Hibs in the 2004/05 season.

However, Thompson made a superb comeback in the 2005/06 campaign. He quickly regained his place and was named captain by then-boss Tony Mowbray.

His fine form continued and soon Rangers came knocking, eventually signing him in January 2007 for a fee of £2million.

His first half-season at the club was a moderate success, but it was in the 2007/08 campaign that he really made a name for himself as he became a first-team fixture at Ibrox.
