John Kennedy

John Kennedy is another product of the Celtic youth academy. He made his debut for the Hoops back in April 2000 in a League clash with Motherwell.

The defender had a good run in the first team over the Chrismas period during the 2003/04 season and into the New Year, and was rewarded with his first senior international cap towards the end of that season.

He had a quiet 2004/05 campaign as a cruciate ligament injury suffered in an international in March 2004 kept him out all season. Unfortunately, Kennedy's injury problems continued and he failed to make an appearance throughout 2005/6 after a series of operations.

His luck finally changed in April 2007 when he played a full 90 minutes against Kilmarnock, helping Celtic clinch the league title, and four days after that he was rewarded for his comeback with a new contract.
