Derek Riordan

Derek Riordan began his career with Hibernian in 2000 and after a loan spell at Cowdenbeath in 2003, began to make inroads into the Hibs team, finishing as their top scorer in three consecutive seasons as well as earning the Scottish PFA Young Player of the Year in 2005.

He almost left the club that summer, but rejected a move to Cardiff City, preferring to run down his contract, after which he joined Celtic in the summer of 2006. However, he struggled to break into the Hoops side in his first season with the club, only finding his form after Christmas.
