Weight: 13st 5lbs
Date of Birth: 1980-02-20 Siedlce, Poland

Goalkeeper Artur Boruc moved to Celtic on what was originally a year-long loan from Polish team Legia Warsaw in July 2005. However, after 9 games the deal was made permanent in October of that year. He went on to keep hold of the number one jersey-playing 41 times, keeping 14 clean sheets- until David Marshall was given three games in the final month of the season, with the title already won.
On coming to the club, Boruc said: "I want to be number one with Celtic and with Poland and win myself a longer contract here. If I play over here then Jerzy Dudek will have a little problem over in Liverpool."
The 'little problem' Boruc refers to is the issue of who would play in goal for Poland in this summers World Cup in Germany. As it transpired, a lack of matches for the Anfield outfit resulted in it becoming a very big problem indeed for Dudek.
Boruc promptly took his jersey for the remaining World Cup qualifying games, including the 2-1 defeat against England. He went on to keep goal throughout Poland's three defeats in the finals as he took his international tally to 17 caps.
2006/07 was another good season for Boruc as he hepled the Bhoys to a domestic double, whilst also shining in the Champions League, not least with a last-minute penalty save in their 1-0 win over Man United, helping them qualify for the knockout stage for the first time ever.
However, Boruc also caused no little controversy during the season, mostly because of his habit of crossing himself before games, which incensed Rangers fans when he did it during Old Firm clashes. After another derby clash at the end of the season he got in trouble again, this time for taking a 'Celtic Champions' flag onto the Ibrox pitch.
More trouble followed in 2007/08, but his football thankfully took more headlines as his superb form helped Celtic claim the title.
