Mortitz Volz signed for Fulham in January 2004 after impressing during a six month loan spell. Coleman originally signed him to fill the hole left by the departing Steve Finnan. He went on to make 21 appearances in his first season, becomming an established member of the team by the end of it.
This young German defender began his career as a trainee with Schalke, but moved to London to join Arsenal in August 2000. He made his first team debut in the Worthington Cup victory over Ipswich Town during 2000/01, just a few months shy of his 18th birthday.
Moritz was a mainstay of the Gunners' successful Youth Cup winning side and made regular appearances for the reserves.
In January 2003 he decided to join Wimbledon on loan to gain some valuable experience, before he moved on to Loftus Road.
The 2004/05 season saw Voltz finally stake his claim at Fulham. He played through much of the campaign, clocking up 36 appearances and scoring once - a 2-0 FA Cup Third Round victory against Watford.
He was again a crucial player for the Cottagers in 2005/06, although had a spell out of the team through injury because of a broken rib picked up in early November.
He recovered from this though and made over 30 appearances in 2006/07. He is an important member of the Fulham squad.
