Eddie Johnson

American striker Eddie Johnson started out in Major League Soccer with Dallas Burn and took time to break into the team on a regular basis but discovered his best form in 2003, winning his first national call-up the following year. In 2006 he moved to Kansas City Wizards, having previously rejected a move to Europe with Benfica.

He came close to moves to Derby County and other English clubs in the following years, but did not make the move to the Premier League until January 2008 when he signed for Fulham.
