Diomansy Kamara

In August 2004 Portsmouth completed the loan signing of Modena's Senegalese striker Diomansy Kamara.

His time at Fratton Park was affected by a knee injury suffered in October that kept him out for November and much of December. He played 29 appearances and scored 6 goals, including a superb solo goal against Middlesbrough.

In July 2005 he returned to the top flight to sign for West Brom for £1.5m, but he struggled to settle at first with the Baggies, scoring only twice in his first season as they were relegated.

However, he was a prolific scorer in 2006/07, getting 23 goals in all competitions, and this drew the attention of top flight clubs like Fulham and West Ham, with the Cottagers signing him up for £6m in July 2007.

His first season with Fulham was a successful one and his goals were crucial in helping them avoid relegation. However, his progress in 2008/09 was impeded by an injury that kept him out for the first half of the campaign. He returned in 2009 and contributed four league goals in 12 games.
