Jay McEveley

The young defender made his mark on the reserve side at the start of the 2002/03 season after coming through the Academy ranks.

He made his senior debut at just seventeen against Walsall in the third round of the Worthington Cup the same season and went onto make another 15 appearances earning him a call up to the England U-21s.

2003/04 promised to be an exciting season for the youngster as he looks to establish himself as first choice left-back. However, it did not go as smoothly as he might have hoped, and in December 2003 he joined Burnley on loan for one month over the Christmas period.

He was out on loan again in August 2005, joining Ipswich Town for the duration of the season.

However, in January 2006, he signed with Derby County and remains a promising prospect for the future.
