Giles Barnes

Midfielder Giles Barnes is one of Derby County's most exciting players, having quickly risen through the ranks since making his debut for the club in the 2005/06 season.

His first goal came shortly after, in a league game against Norwich City.

During pre-season in the 2006/07 season, Barnes signed a four-year contract extension, underlining his importance to the club.

He more than lived up to the club's faith in him, quickling becoming a first team regular in the 06/07 campaign that eventually saw Derby promoted to the Premier League through the play-offs.

He was named the club's Young Player of the Year for this promotion season and will be a vital part of the team as they bid to stay in the Premier League in 07/08.
