In August 2007 Derby County signed experienced winger Eddie Lewis for an undisclosed fee from League One side Leeds United.

The USA international was part of Billy Davies' Preston North End side who were beaten in the Championship play-off final in 2005.

Lewis had won 72 caps for the United States and joined Leeds from Preston on a free transfer in 2005.

The former San Jose player previously played in the Championship for Fulham following a £1.3million move in 2000.
