Portugal international Jose Bosingwa started his career in his home country with Freamunde in the year 2000, before signing for Boavista in 2001.
He stayed for two years, playing 41 games, before being snapped up by Porto in 2003. He started as a defensive midfielder for the Portuguese giants, but soon found his calling at right-back.
During his five years with the Dragoes, he became a vital part of the team, helping them to four league titles in five seasons.
In May 2008, Bosingwa signed for Chelsea for £16.3million, putting pen to paper on a three-year deal.
His first season at Chelsea proved a successful one as he scored twice in 34 games. However, it was peppered with contorversy, and in June 2009 he was suspended for three European matches for his involvement in the ugly scenes which marred the end of Chelsea's Champions League semi-final second leg with Barcelona in May.
