After making his debut aged just 16, Kevin McDonald was heralded as a major talent. Within three seasons the tricky winger's performances had drawn interest from big names on both sides of the border, and saw him shortlisted for the SPL Young Player of the Year Award.

After a prolonged courtship, McDonald finally traded Dens Park for Turf Moor in 2008, no doubt swayed by the overtures of countryman Owen Coyle. Although his debut season didn't quite live up to expectations, there is no doubting the Scottish starlet's ability.
