Joey O'Brien is an Irish midfielder who spent some of 2004/05 on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and earned himself a first team squad place at Bolton with some powerful performances in the reserves.

He made the step up to the first team in 2005/06, clocking up thirty-four appearances. However, a knee injury kept him out for the duration of the 2006/07 season, though he returned to action in 2007/08. He appeared only sporadically in 2008/09 but remains an important utility man for Gary Megson.
