Tottenham boss Martin Jol moved to strengthen his strikeforce by signing Poland international Grzegorz Rasiak from Derby County in the dying hours of the transfer deadline day in August.
The 26-year-old looked set to join Wolves after the Rams accepted a £2.25million bid, but a late move from Tottenham scuppered that deal.
Rasiak netted 16 times in 35 Championship outings last term and Jol was confident he will be able to make the step up to the Premiership.
However, the Polish star failed to shine in his intial top flight appearances, and in February 2006 he moved to Southampton on loan for the rest of the season.
A successful loan stay led to a permanent deal being brokered and Rasiak enjoyed some good times at St Marys in 2006/07.
However, in 07/08 his form started to drop and he lost his place in the starting line-up, leading to a loan to Bolton in January 2008.
