Local lad Matt was signed from Great Harwood Town in 2003, and has spent three seasons in the reserves, until becoming a regular member of the Rovers substitutes bench in the 2006/07 season. He opened his goalscoring account on 1st Jan 2007 against Wigan Athletic and has gone on to become a firm favourite with Rovers fans. He was rewarded with a new three-year contract in January 2007 which ties him to the club until 2010.
