Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes believes their season will still be a success if they miss out on European qualification on the final day of the campaign.
Rovers take on relegation-plagued Birmingham City on Sunday needing a win to give them a chance of a top-six place and a spot in next season's UEFA Cup via the Intertoto Cup.
The Ewood Park club are currently one point behind sixth-placed Aston Villa in the table.
"We've got one game to go, three points are still up for grabs, and who knows what will happen on the last day of the season," he told the club's official website.
"There are always twists and turns and who knows, we may pinch a place in Europe at the end of it.
"But irrespective of what happens on Sunday, we have still had an outstanding season.
"We have never been out of the top ten all year which is unbelievable really.
"We've kept going, we've had little blips now and again, but we've regrouped and come again and we face one more game with something still riding on it.
"So I think that shows us great credit."
