Stuart Taylor agreed the terms of a four-year contract at Villa Park in June 2005, where he will vie with Denmark international Thomas Sorensen for a starting role.

Former England Under-21 international Taylor played just 18 Premiership games for the Gunners after progressing from the club's youth set-up, with David Seaman, Alex Manninger, Richard Wright, Jens Lehmann and Manuel Almunia combining to restrict his opportunities.

He also had spells on loan at Bristol Rovers, Crystal Palace, Peterborough United and Leicester City, making a further 30 league appearances. He remains the club's second choice keeper behind Sorensen.
