Rangers sealed the signing of central defender Carlos Cuellar from Spanish side Osasuna in July 2007.

The 25-year-old signed a four-year contract at Ibrox, with a fee of around £2million reportedly agreed.

His first season with the Ibrox side was a wildly successful one, but turned out to be his only year there, as he left in August 2008 to join Premier League side Aston Villa. His first season at Villa Park was a successful one as he helped his team finish sixth in the Premier League.
