In May 2007, Arsenal wrapped up the signing of Legia Warsaw goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski for an undisclosed fee on a long-term contract.

The 22-year-old joined the Gunners to initially act as back-up to Jens Lehmann, but after the German moved on, he served as second choice to Manuel Almunia.

He made a handful of appearances in his first season at the Emirates and continued his development in 2008/09.
