A report last month quoted Scolari as saying: "It is Ronaldo's dream to play for Real Madrid, and I am sure Cristiano will fulfil his dream whatever the difficulties.
"I know Cristiano well and I know the type of person he is so I have no doubts about how he will handle himself in the next few weeks.
"I know that because I have been with him. He is so strong mentally and he is in control of his own destiny - and because of that Manchester United can do nothing to hurt him."
However, the Brazilian now insists: "I never advised Cristiano Ronaldo to change his club. I want to make that clear.
"If Ronaldo stays or does not stay in Manchester is not my business.
"It is not only Ronaldo in Manchester. Ronaldo is one very fantastic player, but he does not play alone.
"If he goes or does not go, the league for Chelsea is still very, very difficult."

Should we all have a national holiday to celebrate the Olympic success?
