The Pheasant is the main sports pub in Newport. There are other venues that are more contemporary or have more of a theme in the town, but this a really popular pub regardless. There are lots of televised sporting events being shown, along with a pool table and a table football game for further sport-related entertainment. Music is provided by a CD jukebox, and although no DJs play during the weekend evenings the venue is full of young people enjoying themselves. The exterior seating area is also very popular in warm weather.
