Birkenhead's second Wetherspoon - The John Laird - borders the bus station. It is more traditional in appearance than its sister venue, but still operates to the now legendary big value food and drink formula. This venue appears to attract a rather rougher looking crowd than the other Wetherspoon, large groups of older males savouring the real ales selection. In close proximity to the bus station it also waters bag-laden shoppers heading home. The usual estate-led food offer is available here, consisting of traditional English favourites at affordable prices, such as the '2 meals for 5' deal available on selected dishes.
