Bar rating:

This former bank, grandly sitting astride the junction of Union and King Street's, is now home to one of the city's most popular pubs - Archibald Simpson's. The hugely proportioned architecture boasts high, chandelier-dotted ceilings, while the pub within is better known for the money offers on food and drink, with the sculpture of Ceres, the Roman goddess of plenty, situated above the front door being particularly fitting. Rather unusually for a bar that attracts so many students, this is a music-free zone, though this doesn't detract from the overall charm, allowing customers to converse and chat freely.
