Description

The Thirsty Scholar is sizeable suburban pub that, due to its location on the infamous 'Derby Mile' and surrounded by student digs, has marketed itself as fun night time destination. For instance, it hosts regular 'theme' parties such as 'Austin Powers' discos. There's also a major sports/games bias with big screen football, pool, darts and more to keep the locals and NUS crowd entertained. There is a raised mezzanine with plush sofa seating and past that to the rear are long dining tables in a beer hall style and it now incorporates an impressive beer garden to boot.
