To the casual observer, The Witchwood is a small pub that cannot possibly justify its reputation, but the importance of the concert room to the rear cannot be underestimated. This is a renowned live venue that has a remote location which attracts the dedicated customer types at which it aims. This means students, alternative lifestylers and lovers of various underground music styles that are particularly present when bands are playing. Loose jeans, piercings and long hair are common. Friday is a 'jukebox' night of DJ requests while Saturdays often showcase 'tribute' bands.
